ECHOS Homes ‘All Seasons’
ECHOS Home 'All Seasons' was officially inaugurated bythe Dutch minister of Defence, Mr. Eimert van Middelkoop,
on 6th july 2007.
This largeinternational base inthe south of Afghanistan has a population of over15.000 soldiers, from over twenty nationalities. It houses the ISAF South HQ, jointly run byBritish, Canadian, and Dutch forces operating in three adjoining provinces. Amongst other units this is also where theDutchAir Task Force,andthe staff ofthe Task Force Uruzgan are stationed. There are about 400 Dutch soldiers stationed at ‘KAF’(Kandahar Air Field Base).
After Home-Base Support built an ECHOS Home in Tarin Kowt, the Ministry of Defence asked Home-Base Support to also build a Home in Kandahar. We were happy to comply, because on this large international camp soldiers no less need a hospitable place to relax, recreate, and have a cup of coffee or a meal. |
