The objectives of ECHOS International are laid down in a mission statement:
As a group of European Christian Home Organisations for the Services ECHOS acts as a council for consultation and global co- ordination of the work carried out by its member organisations serving the military forces.

ECHOS provides by means of its member organisations spiritual and physical support for military units serving in peace support operations and in multinational military exercises to enhance the well-being of the soldiers.

The member organisations run international soldiers' homes to which soldiers, regardless of nationality, religion and rank, are welcome.

ECHOS International supports the member organisations on a national and international level by liaison with appropriate bodies and agencies, promoting, marketing, negotiating, advising and fundraising, to create conditions for support and welfare delivery.
