What is ECHOS International ?
‘Union is strenght’ must have been the guiding principle, when ECHOS International was founded in 1992. Civil Christian military welfare organisations from several European countries than decided to closer co-operation.

On a regular basis the members meet to discuss various subjects in the field of military welfare. By exchanging ideas and experiences the member organisations could improve their performance. Subjects to discuss are for example home care activities, family support, how to practise Christian principles nowadays in a changing environment, welfare activities and standards, standards for military homes and mobile facilities and how to deal with diminishing budgets and support.

Members also have the possibility to detect opportunities for closer co-operation. For example this is the case in deploying and running military homes in mission areas. In joint ventures members that are new in the field of military homes could benefit from the knowledge of more experienced partners. And by co-operating also the smaller and low budget member organisations have a possibility to participate in operating military homes. And thus promoting in an effective and well appreciated way the spiritual and physical well being of their military personnel in international peace support operations !

Furthermore the council supports the members by liaison with bodies and agencies that could benefit their activities. This will be done wherever and whenever desired by the member organisations and both on national and international level. Other activities of the council are promoting and marketing the activities of the members, lobbying, negotiating and advising.
